Wycombe Museum

Wycombe Museum has existed in some form since 1875, and has been in it’s home at Castle Hill House on Priory Avenue since 1962. It is now an independent charity managed by Wycombe Heritage and Arts Trust (WHAT), but was previously run by Wycombe District Council.

Admission is FREE. We recommend 2 – 3 hours to visit Wycombe Museum.

Cafe
There is an on-site cafe, where a selection of sandwiches, drinks, snacks, and cakes are available. Ask our staff for dietary information. Indoor and outdoor seating and tables are available.

Our café serves a selection of child-friendly meals, snacks, and drinks. Dairy-free and gluten-free options are available. Ask our staff for dietary information. High chairs are available. Breastfeeding and bottle feeding are welcome anywhere on site.

Buggy access
Buggies are allowed throughout the museum, though section of our first floor are quite narrow. In busy times we may ask you to leave your buggy with us. Limited buggy parking is available in our foyer.

Wheelchairs & accessibility
Wycombe Museum is fully wheelchair accessible, with disabled-access lift and toilets. Some parts of are garden have some steep slopes or uneven pathways that may be difficult to access. Check out the link below for more detailed accessibility info.

Grounds & Sensory Garden
We have picnic benches in our gardens, and welcome picnics and packed lunches in our grounds. A selection of garden games can be borrowed from our café. There is a lot to explore in our gardens – we ask that you stick to the paths around the motte hill and sensory garden to keep you safe.
