Make a water wheel!

Learn all about how hydro-power works, and how Wycombe’s River Wye powered local industry through water mills. Create a spinning water wheel, and make a splash as you test it!

Discover & Make are Wycombe Museum’s regular children’s holiday activity workshops. They combine a learning ‘discover’ activity – often a trail worksheet around the museum’s galleries – with a hands-on ‘make’ portion to further explore the topic of the session.

Recommended 4 – 11. Smaller ones are welcome but will need help.

Tickets £4.75 per child. Tickets not needed for accompanying adults. Pre-booking essential.

Sessions last 45 minutes – choose you time slot when you book tickets.

Join this fun, educational workshop that will develop children’s creative writing skills and unleash their imaginations in this May Half Term learning activity!

Step into the whimsical world of Roald Dahl in this fun and imaginative workshop for children aged 6-11! Through James and The Giant Peach and The BFG, children will explore Roald Dahl’s incredible use of language, build their comprehension skills, and dive into creative writing inspired by his unforgettable characters and magical storytelling. A perfect mix of learning and creativity for budding young writers!

The workshop is run by the teaching team from Arka Learning (a High Wycombe based Maths and English tuition provider) and is suitable for 6 to 11 year olds.

Arka Learning is an after-school tuition centre for children aged 6 to 11, which has recently opened in the Eden Shopping Centre.  It uses the latest educational research to help its students build towards 11+ and future success with outstanding foundational study programmes in Maths and English, set in a calm, screen-free environment.
