LOCKS RIDE RECREATION GROUND IS A LARGE AREA OF PUBLIC OPEN SPACE LOCATED ON FOREST ROAD, WINKFIELD ROW. It is only 10/15 min drive from Windsor.

There is a large gravel car park plus pedestrian entrances on Forest Road and Locks Ride.

The site has a large open children’s beach themed play area together with a water splash area and a selection of outdoor gym equipment.  Water splash area operating times are approximately 11 a.m. – 1 pm and 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. There is a dedicated Locks Ride Recreation Ground page on Facebook which is regularly updated to provide information on maintenance and opening times. 

*Note: The main pole was damaged and has been removed. 

The site is very popular during summer holiday. It has a play area including a zig wire which it makes it suitable for both toddlers and older children.

There is a refreshment unit on site, Locks Ride Cabin (opening time Weekdays 10am-4pm Weekends 10am-6pm), which opens daily through the summer months (periodically through the winter months) serving hot and cold drinks, snacks and ice-cream.

There are toilets on site.
