Lightwater Country Park
Lightwater Country Park is situated on the edge of Lightwater Village and extends to 59 hectares. The park won a Green Flag Award for the fourth time in 2022. The award is an international quality mark for parks and green spaces.
The park is predominantly heathland habitat, but there are also ponds, woodland, meadows and areas of scrub. These habitats offer the opportunity to observe a wide variety of wildlife, birds, mammals, plants and insects. The area of heathland within the Country Park has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), so is an area of high nature conservation value.
There are paths through the woods and around the pond, where there are usually people fishing. Some of the paths aren't suitable for pushchairs, bikes etc. but are great for dogs!

There is a fantastic wooden play park, handily situated next to the cafe and near the toilets, this is suitable for ages 4 - 14.
