D Day 80 Party in the Park

Next dates

Sorry, there are no future dates available

Every other year Sunninghill & Ascot Parish Council hold a ‘Party in the Park’ at Victory Field in Sunninghill, but this year we are delighted to be hosting an extra special party to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day to coincide with the celebrations taking place all over the country on Thursday 6th June.
Following the format of the very successful Platinum Party in the Park in June 2022, there will be live music, children’s rides, Fish ‘n’ Chips and other fabulous food for all the family to enjoy!

The event will take place from 4pm until 10pm with music from various professional bands performing on the specially erected open-air stage, as part of the line up of entertainment, we are delighted to be welcoming back Groove Republic and Groove Company who have both been so popular with the audience when they performed at our previous Party in the Park events.

There will be food stalls, a beer and Pimm’s tent, ice cream stall, fairground rides and fun for all the family. Bring your own picnic, chairs and rugs and soak up the party atmosphere throughout the evening.

In celebration of the ‘Light of Peace’ that emerged out of the darkness of WW2, a beacon will be lit at Victory Field at 9.15pm.  This will coincide with the lighting of beacons all over the country that evening, whilst the International Tribute will be read out to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day.  Once the beacon is lit, there will be a 1940s Sing-Along to bring the evening to a rousing finish!

You are welcome to bring your own seating and rug and as it will be getting dark towards to end of the evening, we also advise you to bring torches with you to aid the journey home.

More exciting details are being confirmed for the day all the time, so for updates keep checking the website
